Google Business Profile Optimization Services
Your Google Business Profile is probably the most important piece of marketing you're not paying enough attention to. I'm not trying to be harsh, most business owners in Citrus, Marion, and Hernando county don't realize how much money they're leaving on the table because their profile is abandoned or half-finished.

Here's what actually happens: someone in Silver Springs searches "roofer near me" or someone in Southeast Ocala types "testosterone clinic." Google shows them a map with three businesses. If your profile looks sketchy, has no reviews, or shows closed when you're actually open, they call someone else. It's that simple.

Your Google Profile Matters Just As Much As Your Website
I know that sounds backwards, but stick with me. Your GBP is a huge part of you SEO startegy. When people search for local services in your area they usually see your Google Business Profile before they ever click through to your website. That little box with your hours, photos, and reviews? That's your storefront now.
Think about the last time you needed an electrician or wanted to try a new med spa. You probably didn't visit ten different websites. You looked at Google Maps, checked a few reviews, looked at some photos, and made a decision right there.
Your potential customers are doing the same thing. If your profile isn't set up right, you're invisible. If it looks neglected, you look unreliable. If it's optimized properly, you get the call.

What Needs to Be Fixed
Your Categories Are Wrong

This is huge and almost nobody gets it right. Google lets you pick a primary category and several secondary categories. Most people just pick whatever sounds close enough and move on. Bad idea.

Your categories determine which searches you show up for. If you're a landscaping company and you only selected "Landscaper," you're missing searches for "lawn care service," "landscape designer," and "tree service." Each of those brings in different types of customers at different price points.
For TRT clinics, I see this mistake all the time. You need "Medical Clinic" or "Wellness Center" as primary, but then you should add "Men's Health Physician," "Hormone Replacement Therapy Clinic," and maybe "Weight Loss Service" if you offer that. Each category opens up new search visibility.

Your Service Area Is Too Vague

Google wants to know exactly where you work. Not just "Ocala" or "Marion County." They want specific neighborhoods and surrounding cities.

If you're a roofer serving the whole county, you should list Ocala, Belleview, Dunnellon, Silver Springs, Silver Springs Shores, Marion Oaks, On Top of the World, and any other community you actually work in. Each one helps you show up in "near me" searches from those areas.

Your Photos Look Like an Afterthought

This one drives me crazy. You've got three photos on your profile from 2019. One's blurry. One's a random stock image. One's your logo.
People want to see your actual work, your actual location, your actual team. For home service companies, show before-and-after photos of jobs. Show your trucks. Show your crew working. For medical practices, show your actual office, your staff, your treatment rooms (with patient permission obviously).

Nobody's Managing Your Questions

Did you know people can ask questions right on your Google profile? Most business owners have no idea this feature exists. So questions sit there unanswered, or worse, random people answer them with wrong information.
Check your profile right now. You probably have questions sitting there from six months ago. Answer them. Better yet, seed your own questions and answers. Ask questions your customers actually have and give helpful answers.

The Review Problem Everyone Has
There is a common misconception about Google reviews. Many people think having tons of 5 star reviews will rank your business profile higher. This is slightly true, it does help with that. However, having good reviews is mostly beneficial for increasing trust and click-through-rate.

A higher click through rate is just as important as ranking higher. Who cares about being seen if nobody becomes a customer? We can help you build a review automation system to continuously get new reviews from happy clients.
Posts Are Free Marketing You're Ignoring
Google lets you create posts directly on your profile. These show up when people view your listing. Most businesses never use this feature. That's free real estate you're wasting.

Post about:
-
Special offers or seasonal promotions
-
New services you're offering
-
Educational content (like storm preparation tips for roofing, or explaining what low testosterone symptoms look like)
-
Before and after photos of recent work
-
Awards or certifications

For medical practices, posts are perfect for explaining common questions. "Thinking about starting HRT? Here's what to expect in your first month." That kind of content builds trust before someone even calls.
You don't need to post every day. Once or twice a month is plenty. Just stay active enough that your profile looks current.
